About me.

Teaching grown ups well is more than delivering information. It is creating the conditions where people can think differently, grow confidently, and carry learning into real life.

DR. LISA ELLEM, EdD
TEACHING GROWN UPS WELL

THE WORK

Where it sits

My work sits at the intersection of adult learn ing, healthcare, education, leadership, and human development. I research, write, speak, and teach about how adults learn, supporting educators, trainers, coaches, and industry professionals to create learning that is meaningful, evidence-informed, and deeply human.

My understanding of adult learning did not begin in theory. It began in practice.

THE TRUTH

Knowing something deeply and helping adults learn it meaningfully are not always the same skill.

TODAY

RESEARCH - WRITING
SPEAKING - TEACHING

BEYOND FORMAL EDUCATION

Helping professionals creat learning that truly sticks.

Today, I help professionals move beyond content delivery and toward creating learning that truly sticks. My work draws together research, reflective practice, lived experience, and a deep curiosity about how people make meaning in a rapidly changing world.

That curiosity has also taken me beyond formal education settings through travel, philosophy, culture, and cross-cultural learning experiences that continue to shape how I understand humanity, connection, and adult learning.

At the heart of my work is one central belief:

Adults learn best when they feel supported, challenged, connected, and able to see meaning in what they are learning.

What I know to be true is that teaching grown ups well is both an art and a science discipline.

When adults are taught well, learning changes more than what they know. It changes how they see themselves, their work, and the world around them.
